Our Mission & Aims
The Charity's objects are to improve agriculture for the public benefit by the demonstration, exhibition and showing of livestock, machinery, crafts, products, methods and processes connected with agriculture and agricultural education.
These aims still hold true today. The essence of the Rutland County Show still represents farming and agriculture. You only need to look at our livestock and equine entries last year (Over 1000 entries!) and our agricultural trade stands to see we are proud to represent our County.
Our immediate aim is to cover our operating costs by the generating revenues through the Annual show and the letting of the Showground and Pavilion for events.
Our longer term aims are to support the Community in Rutland, particularly in the educating the public on Farming and Food. Also to help young people who are entering farming as a profession by facilitating training and apprenticeships.
