Our Mission & Aims

To further the cause of agriculture to promote well-being and efficiency of agriculture and all professions, trade & craft connected to it in the County of Rutland. To hold an annual show and to help support the education of young people in good agricultural practices.

These aims still hold true today. The essence of the 185th Rutland County Show still represents farming and agriculture. You only need to look at our livestock and equine entries last year (Over 1000 entries!) and our agricultural trade stands to see we are proud to represent our County.

Our immediate aim is to cover our operating costs by the generating revenues through the Annual show and the letting of the Showground and Pavilion for events.

Our longer term aims are to support the Community in Rutland, particularly in the educating the public on Farming and Food. Also to help young people who are entering farming as a profession by facilitating training and apprenticeships
