FAQS
Here are some frequently asked questions about trading at the Rutland County Show.
You must apply for a trade stand through our website.
Select the area you wish to trade in and complete the forms.
Once you have sent the form, you will receive an email confirming that you have done so. This is not acceptance of your application, even if you have paid. It is necessary for us to check your form and receive your additional documents through before accepting you.
When you receive your invoice or receipt from the Rutland Agricultural Society, then you have been accepted.
If you have paid online and are not accepted for any reason, you will receive a refund.
Examples may include us receiving too many applications from businesses selling similar goods or services, prohibited products, political parties or those not considered appropriate within the culture of the Rutland Show.
To complete your application, you need to provide a copy of your Public Liability Insurance Certificate covering the date of the show and a full Risk Assessment focused on the building, running and dismantling of your stand at the event. Our Health & Safety team will check your documents.
When applying you can pay online or request an invoice before payment. Invoice payments can be made by following the link on the invoice or by BACs transfer.
Your application is complete when:
- You have applied through our website.
- You have submitted your PLI and Risk Assessment documents
- You have paid and received a receipt of payment
- Or you have requested an invoice and it has been paid
Trade applications close as soon as the trade area is fully booked or on May 1st, whichever comes sooner.
Digital tickets and vehicle passes for admission on show day are sent by email around two weeks before the show.
You may set up for the show during the previous week on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Please indicate which days you are likely to come to the showground for security purposes. When setting up before the show, the showground is categorised as a building site and we require everyone to provide and wear a hi-vis vest.
You may camp on Saturday and Sunday nights only. There is small fee. You will need to book this when you apply for your stand.
You will be provided with a number of vehicle passes. These are for use on Show Day only and allow access to your stand to finish set up, between 6 and 7.30am only. You and any staff will need to show tickets to enter the show.
There is a trade car park but vehicles parked here cannot leave the showground until after the show has finished. If you need to exit the showground during the day, then you must park in the public car parks.
Wi-fi will be available at the show. Access details will be available closer to show day.
You can only begin to pack up once the show closes at 5pm. Vehicles are only allowed to be driven on site once visitors have left the event.
Anyone who needs to leave or enter while the event is running, must park in the public car park. Vehicles parked in the trade car park are not accessible.
