What's on at the Rutland Showground
Conveniently located on the Oakham bypass within a few miles of the the A1, the Rutland Showground covers around 150 acres, including over 30 acres laid to well drained sports pitches. The Showground boasts a modern Pavilion building with a commercial kitchen, club house, bar, changing rooms with showers along with plenty of parking. The Showground can be hired for events of all sizes from private parties through to shows, rallies and festivals.
Apple Tree Grafting Workshop at the Rutland Showground

Come and learn how to graft fruit trees with local experts who will lead this three-hour workshop designed for the novice propagator. Skill at grafting is the true mark of gardening expertise, but it’s also easy to learn and fun to do. In this hands-on workshop you will graft and take home a low-maintenance fruit tree that can produce fruit organically without harmful spraying.
What to bring: Warm clothing. If possible bring only your thin-bladed pocket knife and a pair of hand pruners. Leave with your own grafted apple tree.
£20 including a grafted tree of a local heritage variety.
